Mean Servers supports automated IPv4 and IPv6 rDNS requests for virtual private server customers through our SolusVM control panel. Please login to the SolusVM control panel to make the rDNS entry or changes. rDNS changes may take up to 48 hours to propagate fully. Mean Servers can also make the changes for you manually if you wish to open a support ticket instead. The current fee for VPS customers manual rDNS requests is $2.50/rDNS entry.
rDNS entries may also be made for shared hosting customers with a dedicated IP address. The cost is $5/rDNS request. Please open a support ticket to have the rDNS entry processed.
Dedicated server clients that need a rDNS request should open a support ticket as we do not support automated rDNS requests for dedicated servers at this time. Please ensure to include the full IP address and the hostname you wish us to make an rDNS entry for. There is no charge for this service. rDNS requests will be processed within 24 hours of your ticket being opened, you will be notified once the entry has been made at which point it may take 48 hours for the change to fully propagate.
**Dedicated server clients with subnets equal to a /27 or larger will be delegated rDNS authority. You must run nameservers with rDNS capabilities or subscribe to a DNS plan with Mean Servers. We will then send you information on how to setup your rDNS entries within your nameserver as it takes an extra step.**
